are the ITG members who:

registered for the
Spring and/or Fall 1999 trials, |

agreed to the conditions
of the trials (grow out seeds to best of their abilities and send in reports or if unable
to comply, let us know something, so we'd know we would not be receiving their data), |
|
received their seeds . .
. . |
and then got to work growing outstanding 'maters!
These folks also kept flawless records, saved seed to replenish the ITT seed bank and/or
made a cash contribution to one of the seed
saver organizations working with ITT to build an online seedbank to distribute
FREE open pollinated and heirloom vegetable seeds to farmers and market gardeners around
the world. Hot Tomatoes subscribed to the ITG-DISCUSS mailing list also generously shared information and their experiences with other
ITT growers subscribed to the members' mailing list.
What do the ITG Hot Tomatoes get in return for
their effort and enthusiasm above and beyond the call? That's a surprise for later (no,
it's not going to be a gift certificate to Tiffany's or Home Depot). But to start, Hot
Tomatoes do not pay for seeds in future trials. Everyone else registering for the trials
will be asked to cover the actual costs of their seeds, packing, and postage:
$6.00 in the USA; $6.25 to Canada; $7.00 all other destinations).
